Are Service Dogs in British Columbia Required to Wear Vests?

No. The only identification a service dog is required to wear is the collar tag that is issued by the BC Ministry of Justice.

If owners prefer that their dog is more easily visible as a service dog, they may also wear a vest or collar patch. Some dogs, however, do not enjoy wearing them and it may be an added level of stress.

Some owner-trained dogs have the dog wear a 'Service Dog in Training' patch to alert the public that their dog is in training but is working.

In other areas of Canada and the US, the laws are different. You need to consult your federal and locals laws on service dogs for details.
